Crossroads is the Maldives' first integrated tourism development project and showcases different aspects of its locale. Unlike local resorts, Crossroads features a township built by Aima, populated by restaurants, retail outlets, a cultural centre, a marina office and other establishments, all open to the public. Meanwhile, back-of-the-house buildings are on a separate island. Aima was involved in many of the project’s crucial aspects including constructing the Hard Rock Hotel's 78 water villas, walkway jetty, beach suites and front-of-house and back-of-house buildings. These were all delivered within 12 months of being awarded the contract.
